Kendra Ketter Chavis is an ordained minister, speaker and writer. She earned a B.A. in Media Communication and trained in classical and theater music at the College of Charleston. She completed her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) at Princeton Theological Seminary. Most recently, she served as an Associate Minister at Change Church in Ewing, NJ, a multi-site worshipping community. There, she taught Biblical Interpretation to emerging ministers, and served through discipleship groups, preaching, and pastoral care for sick and grieving members. Kendra also recently concluded pulpit and pastoral care service at Memorial West United Presbyterian Church in Newark, NJ.
Kendra has spent her life in the comfort of community—from her large South Carolina family to the non-profit organizations and religious settings where she has been allowed to serve. She has dedicated her life to the service of those in vulnerable populations; and has worked with organizations such as The YMCA, United Way, Living Hope Empowerment Center, Wellspring Living for Girls, The SBC Empowerment Institute rites of passage program, a variety of nonprofits, afterschool programs and churches. She takes joy in sharing with groups of any size, whether local or international.
Together, with her husband Travis, she has also done an array of strategic solutions consulting “for people who serve people”—specifically, churches and non-profits seeking business, operational and media strategies that allow them to better focus on the service to which they are called. Each of these things by God's grace!
