Buzzy—yes, that is her name, or at least what she has been called since she was about two—has been involved in youth ministry for over twenty years.
Her entry into youth ministry began when she was trying to hire a youth director and ended up being the one hired. Buzzy worked with youth, young adults, parents, and volunteers at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, Arizona for 15+ years. During her time on staff, the church grew from 350 to 1200 members. One of Buzzy’s greatest joys in her work was to enable and empower youth and volunteers to identify and use their gifts to glorify God. She also loves mission work and has led over twenty trips.
Buzzy’s love of youth ministry and the desire to have a more solid theological grounding in it led her to Princeton Theological Seminary, where she is studying to get a Master’s of Divinity focusing on pastoral and youth ministry. Buzzy and her husband Joe moved from Phoenix to Princeton two years ago, where they live with fellow seminarians in the married housing complex. She has two young adult daughters and loves to spend time with them and their dog, Elphie. When she isn’t studying, Buzzy enjoys reading books for fun, traveling, seeing shows (it is great to be near NYC) and staying in touch with friends.
