Kristin began volunteering in youth ministry while in college at Valparaiso University, where she graduated with a B.A. in French and Spanish. She spent the next year as a youth intern at two different churches. In 2007, she and her husband moved to Hong Kong, where she served as the youth director at Union Church, an international, inter-denominational church, for 5 years. Kristin graduated with an M.Div from Princeton Seminary in May 2015. She is currently serving as the Director of Youth and Family Ministries at National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC. She and her husband Grant have two children, and play ultimate frisbee whenever they can find time.
