Church Staffing

Our Church Staffing Process

Listening

We get to know your church culture, the ministry, and the position being filled so that we can best present your church to potential candidates.

Networking

We connect your church in a targeted way to appropriate candidates through social media, and LinkedIn Recruiter, Ministry Architects’ contacts, and your own church’s networks.

Vetting

We screen candidates before presenting them to the church, including verification of education and employment, reference checks, Workplace Profile, and a recorded preliminary interview.

Carrying the Load

We carry the load of the search work so it is taken off the plate of a staff person or search team member who can then focus on ministry.

Tips for Employers

  • Be sure you have a clearly defined job description before you start searching.
  • Always look within your own house – you never know if someone in your church is feeling called to a position.
  • Candidates are interviewing you as much as you are interviewing them. Be prepared to answer questions about your church, the community, the position, and ministry.
  • Take your time to find the right person. A bad hire can cost the church more than if the church takes the time needed to hire the right person.
  • Determine a salary range ahead of time. Candidates will want to know the salary range early on in the process.

Tips for Candidates

  • Have someone review your resume. Typos and grammatical errors are a big no-no.
  • Keep your resume to two pages and include relevant experiences.
  • Video interviews are like in-person interviews. Don’t be in your car or out for a walk during the interview. Be in a location where you won’t get interrupted, that has good lighting, and a good Wi-Fi signal.
  • Dress up for video interviews. Don’t show up in t-shirts or sweats.
  • Be sure you are a theological fit for the church position that you are applying for.
