Melinda started her ministry journey in 1991, transitioning from public school teaching to become the first and second grade pastor at Beaverton Foursquare Church in Beaverton, Oregon (Nike, Columbia Sports and Intel land!) After serving in various ministry roles, in 2008, she became pastor of children’s and family ministry, allowing her to pursue her passion for equipping parents as spiritual leaders. In that role, she influenced church-wide ministry alignment toward a family ministry mindset, created milestone strategies and developed a physical discipleship space for families.
In spring 2018, she and her husband Michael moved to Boise, Idaho where she is now serving as an interim coach/architect at a 600-member dual-campus downtown church, coaching church leaders in raising the value of kids’ and family ministry and helping them build sustainable ministry systems. She’s excited for how the diversity of leading in a mega-church ministry to coaching and architecting in a smaller church setting has equipped her to serve with the Ministry Architects team.
She’s an Oregon Duck, graduating with a BS in Elementary Ed and Outdoor Ed. In 2016, she earned her Master’s in Strategic Leadership from Life Pacific College, feeding her passion as a strategic leader. In her spare time, she loves hiking and biking the Boise foothills, discovering Boise’s fun, quirky coffee spots, and exploring Idaho’s amazing outdoor spaces with her hubby.
